1930s Duplex Spirit of St. Louis Snare Drum
Size : 6 x 14
Finish : White Marine Pearl
This is a very cool 1930s Duplex Spirit of St. Louis snare drum. The idea was to push some of the hardware to the inside of the drum. The drum was inspired and named after the plane that Charles Lindberg flew over the trans Atlantic with. The drum was advertised as using aeroplane metal. The finishes often cracked however this one has held very strong. There is one deep scratch as seen in the photos. The wrap has a few areas of very slight bubbling. All of the nickel plated hardware is very nice. Each hoop has a location of bends, but nothing overly major. The strainer gates have slightly widened as seen in photos. This drum is in nicer condition that many examples that have come of for sale recently.
